This ad, speaks for itself almost 20 years later:
This commercial is genius.
Not because HELLO has been APPLE's slogan since the MACINTOSH 128k days dating back to January 1984,
But because it's a perfect way to get people to talk to the phone
Though in today's age of CELLULAR PHONES, people often just text and even then, I don't see many people text using their phone's built-in app.
.....sorry.... I can't get into people's private lives for obvious reasons.
But the iPhone did revolutionize the SMARTPHONE industry almost practically overnight since it's debut in 2007 at the JAN 2007 Apple Keynote
Because back in the day, there weren't many phones that were classified as SMART.
The IBM SIMON is a testament to that
And APPLE wanted to break themselves away from the massive failure that was the MOTOROLA ROKR from 2005
So when this phone released in 2007
Thus began the modern age of SMARTPHONES and brough the death knelt to flip or slider phones with keypads. And other manufacturers had no choice but to develop phones for the ANDROID operating system if they want to survive as a Phone Manufacturer if they want to compete against APPLE.
I will admit, When the first iPhones came out, I didn't even pay attention to them.
What I did pay attention to was it's closest cousin, the iPod Touch
And back in the very late 2000s before 2010 rolled over,
I didn't even consider the iPhone to be my ideal phone as back in 2009, my eyes were dead-set on the PALM PRE
Back as explained in a previous post,I did not appreciate that phones like the PALM PRE or the XPERIA PLAY were exclusive to specific providers.
So for a good while, I had a NOKIA C6-00 from 8th to 10th Grade until March 2014 when I switched to a GOOGLE NEXUS 5 Android phone until finally on December 2015 I got my very first iPhone from my dad which was an iPhone 5S
So far, I've gone through 6 different iPhones with my second being a 6S in 2018,
an iPhone 11 in 2020,
an iPhone 13 in 2022,
and iPhone 15 Pro in 2024,
And here I am with my current phone, an iPhone 17 Pro Max.
