In this inaugural premiere edition of "Maverick PC Builder's Insider" I will dive into the nuts and bolts of the Custom PC BUILDS that I do for friends, family, and others.
Starting with this Premiere Edition:
THE El REDENTOR PC.
It guess it was time to make the switch.
My Baptist Church's been having some major problems with one of their PCs. Turns out it was running hardware that's circa 2017 which is now long in the tooth for 2024 and it's been giving my Church's Tech Guys a real headache.
So what did the previous PC use?
It used an MSI Motherboard,
an AMD RYZEN 7 1800X CPU,
A Radeon GPU of that time period. Probably an RX Vega 56.
A Corsair Carbide SPEC-01 Mid-Tower Case,
a 650 Watt PSU,
16GB of DDR4 Ram from G-Skill,
A Cooler Master Air Cooler,
And mostly SATA SSDs.
And that's where the woes start.
I took a look at the boot process and it turns out the main raid is on it's last legs...... sort of. It still works but it's listed as critical.
And because of the outdated hardware, the software has been going through some major updates that's really starting to bog things down.
So as a result, I've been called up to provide my choice of new parts to build this machine and help build for them.
What we do know is that the parts will be brand new and be in the AM5 socket.
The Motherboard will probably be a GIGABYTE Motherboard.
32GB of DDR5 Dual Channel RAM will be the memory configuration.
A Noctua or be quiet! cooler would be used to cool down the Ryzen 7 or Ryzen 9 this new machine would use.
I also encouraged multiple M.2 SSDs as well as a fully modular PSU.... though whether they go higher than 750 watts is up for debate.
And the guy I talked to about cases, yes he likes Fractal Design as a case manufacturer so we settled on the FRACTAL NORTH Case as shown above.
I'll do a Part Two on this particular Post in the future once the build is finished but for now, this is a prelude.
