Maverick Quickie-Beebe Bluff's head dialogue cues+Connie's figure

When I bought my AMAZON DVD of the Nickelodeon Series on July 2019, I obviously started the series with the first season.

But then I noticed something unusual about Beebe Bluff in some of the Earliest episodes of the Nickelodeon Era 

This only happened in the original Nickelodeon Series and pretty early on but It's something I've noticed during the First Season of Nickelodeon's DOUG.

Notice on how in some of these screenshots Beebe Bluff had a perfectly circular head

Normally during the later parts of Nickelodeon's DOUG and later Disney's Doug, Beebe is always drawn with a properly proportioned human head and has remained that way ever since.

Blame my Season 1 Perfect Circle head on Jumbo Pictures' artists circa 1991.

So it got me thinking the more I watched the series and then it dawned to me:

If Beebe's head is a perfect circle, she has no speaking lines in the episode or a specific scene. It all makes sense.

But if she has a properly proportioned Human Shaped head, she has dialogue. 

Considering Beebe became somewhat of a popular character during the later years of DOUG.... both series that is, it became clear to the artists which head shape to use.....

"Why would anyone want to steal Bone's trophy or make my head look Off-Model?"

The head shape error from Season 1 was really the fault of the original season 1 artists not having a proper style guide at the time so designs for the DOUG characters were really all over the place.

For example, notice something off with Connie?

Yeah, after the babysitting episode, Connie would not be depicted with the same violet Skin Tone as Beebe and she probably dyed her hair back to it's intended Dark Purple.

"I happily confirm that the Season 1 Artist who screwed up my skin and hair color has been sacked in the face with a baseball bat."

Also, I don't think the WIKIS or TV Tropes pages properly categorize Connie's original physique. They say Connie was chubby but I don't think so. 

As a matter of fact, Connie outright denies it during the Season 4 Weight Loss Episode. 

Nicktoons Connie's actually..... THICC? According to some people on the internet....

It's even hinted in Doug's imagination spot about him as a Hip-Hop singer where we do see her true physique.

That same physique may have been the same model used from the baseball episode where Connie got her proper green skin tone and Purple hair color.

By the Disney Series, Connie lost a considerable amount of her Nicktoons weight and came back a hottie as a result of a summer vacation.

But I bet the fan artists prefer the original THICC Connie so they use her Nicktoons physique whether the fan art be true to the show's actual art style or redesigned ANIME STYLE.... 

I don't have any saved DOUG FANART that's anime style but I can only imagine.

But I can hazard a guess where Connie got the idea to lose all that weight and become a hottie in 1996: Punching Roger in the stomach during Doug's New Years eve party in 1993.

And yes, all of these VLC Player screenshots came from my DOUG The complete Nickelodeon Series AMAZON DVD which sadly is no longer in stock but you can still find Nickelodeon's DOUG on both Apple TV and Paramount+.

For some bizarre reason, I can't get Paramount+ on my PS5 but my iPhone, iPad, and Windows PC does allow Paramount+ to be installed.

But at least we can still get Paramount+ here in Canada, 

unlike with PEACOCK or MAX.

DAMMIT COMCAST & BELLMEDIA!!!

Update as of August 18 2024:

FINALLY!!! Paramount+ made it to Canadian PS5 consoles.......

I don't know how it is for other Canadian regions but since 2021, Vancouverite owners were unable to get Paramount+ on their PS5's despite it being available on their smartphones since Day 1.

Well that has changed for the greater good but as usual, I'm sticking to my Nick Series DVD for all my Screen captures of DOUG. For the Disney version, INTERNET ARCHIVE it is.....

That is if the prints are clean without any network bugs or artifact compression.
