What do Ren and Stimpy & SpongeBob have in common?
Beside being Nicktoons of course....
They use classical sounding music.... sort of.
It's actually more noticeable in REN AND STIMPY but the show often uses music that sounds as if they're lift directly from Movies or Cartoons released between 1937 to 1966.... sort of.
Which makes sense considering John K's intense dislike of Modern Music... at least during Ren and Stimpy's creation and peak years on Television.
But for SpongeBob, it guess it's either for comedic or aesthetic purposes because that show often uses queues that are often nautical themed.
For what we know, that 50's sounding music comes from a library known as KPM or APM music which are by far the most well known of all stock music libraries.
But on the internet side of things, especially with things like Facebook, YouTube, and TikTok,
Kevin Macleod's Royalty-Free music library is the GOTO for getting classical sounding music into your various shorts uploaded on these websites.
I imagine that when MARYLANDIA does get picked up as a tv series and I can't afford a BG Music composer, you'd bet I'll be looking into Kevin MacLeod's music libraries.
By the way, if you want to listen to these royalty free soundtracks, here's the link to where I get Macleod's Royalty-Free music:
