There's something that's been bugging me recently.
And this is coming from the words of a CG animator like myself.
Have you ever stopped and wondered about these kinds of poses you see in your modern day cgi animated film?
I'm seeing that it's getting popular for many an animation studio to go and break the rig's geometry just to get a pose that can't been done the normal way. Like this behind-the-scenes screenshot of an animator's shot of Mirabel holding some illuminating shards.
And I thought my college discouraged this practice of breaking CG models.
But it's being done anyway.
Here's what the final shot looks like on camera, complete with all that ray-tracing goodness. Here's Alberto trying to eat some pasta.
Here's the Ray-Traced final shot.
and here's the part of Alberto's PRESTO rig you don't see on camera.
Also, I've noticed how uncomfortable Luca was looking at Alberto's mouth like that.
Fortunately, Luca is not alone with allowing animators to break his mouth geometry just for these two images below.
First is the Ray-Traced final shot
Now this looks more like someone's animating Luca feeling the centrifugal force
And for all you CHAD-Loving JOJO FANBOYS,
Yes, it's true a Flamboyant CHADLY pose can't be accomplished without breaking the rigs.
And I have a hunch the JOJO Animators were animating Caesar Anthonio Zeppili's right hand using FK Controls.
