For starters, I got almost the same Motherboard as the one I used for the Church build.... but not quite. It's still a GIGABYTE B650 AORUS Elite AX Motherboard but the one above as shown was the original revision.
I've got the AX V2 revision.
Also, unlike the church build where my congregation went and bought this lovely AMD Ryzen 7 7700X CPU as shown below,
I mean, yes, I do play games on my PC but I also need more cores for faster renders in MAYA and ADOBE PREMIERE PRO so the extra core count is nice.
I was leaning in more towards the 16-Core Ryzen 7950x or it's 3D V-cache counterpart but the employees at Canada Computers kept saying to me that 16-Cores for anything not Intel or Threadripper is considered overkill for my needs.
Oh well, we'll see. For now, I'm sticking with 12-Cores.
Also, I heard from the employees at CANADA COMPUTERS that CORSAIR is having a bad time with their DDR5 RAM sticks so I was encouraged to go with a different brand...
I was wanting to get some HYPER X sticks with this anime girl on the package.
I did buy 32GB of T-Force Vulcan RAM but I chickened out because I never used T-Force before and I'm not going to.
I looked it up but as far as I know, Corsair is still a good brand for DDR5 Ram so I exchanged the Vulcan ram for my preferred Corsair RAM.
And there you have it. My prelude to my AM5 upgrade for my personal machine.
The parts I will keep are my GIGABYTE EAGLE RTC 4080 GPU,
My Corsair RM850X Power Supply... unless I change my mind and go for a 1000w PSU,
My DeepCool AK620 CPU COOLER.... unless I switch to either Noctua or be quiet!,
My ASUS ROG HERCULX Anti-Sag GPU Holder,
And my 2 SSDs.
My Silicon Power 512GB SSD for my Windows 11 Partition,
and my Samsung 980 1TB Stick for my Data Drive.....
I will need an extra Samsung Stick for storing games since I want to download the newest games but because new PC Games have ballooned in storage size in the recent years, I'm thinking of buying another 980 or a 990 Stick that's either 2TB or 4TB in size.
I'm debating if I should still stick with my tried-&-true Samsung 980 or switch to Western Digital Black for my third M.2 SSD.
Anyway, that's the prelude.
and as always,
SEE YOU NEXT BLOGPOST.
