More Matt Groening's Life in Hell-My personal favorites 01

I did a post about one of my inspirations that got me into art. It was posted way back in Valentine's Day of 2023..... ok ok... February 14 2023. For a refresher, here's the link to the post:

But that was a short post that held little to what I wanted to talk about. Just example comics and a few examples of inspirations of satire.

It was considered so short that I was thinking of recategorizing that into a Maverick Quickie but considering I haven't started doing that until November 8th, that would have made things a bit too anachronistic for my standards so how about something called MAVERICK REDUX?

Just kidding. No.

Instead, I'm going to expand on that February post.

Life in Hell, a little underground comic series made by Matt Groening in 1977.

It was his way of venting out his frustrations of living in Los Angeles in the late 70s and Early 80s.

Alright... I lied about wanting to expand on the February post.....
Now I've told two lies....hehehe.... two lies..... a Simpsons Homer Live Reference...

Instead, I'm going to show off my personal favorite strips and panels and maybe provide analysis and comparisons.. Ready...GO:

The DUCKS ARE HELL two-parter, a great personal favorite of mine.

And most of these are from those panels I've read physically on a book.

Thanks to the WORLD WIDE WEB.....er.....THE INTERNET, I've found some more that I've missed in my childhood.

The real joke of this High School Student's comic is Binky talking about how fake the high school students are in movies... THEY'RE PORTRAYED BY ADULTS!!!
I guess Matt Groening had issues with Fast times at Ridgemont High.

I've got a ton more Life In Hell comics but I could only find as much as I could in the one folder I've organized the comics. The rest are still buried so..... Let me end this post with the one strip that gave birth to THE SIMPSONS:
