Doug shares a lot more in common with other animation studios(2025 Writer's Extended Cut)

Throughout all 117 episodes spanning both Nickelodeon and Disney, 

Doug surprisingly shares a lot in common with other animated shows than you can possibly imagine.

I kid you not.

I often forget most of the time that despite being overshadowed by the likes of Rugrats, Ren & Stimpy, Rocko's Modern Life, Hey Arnold, Recess, Pepper Ann, Phineas & Ferb, Arthur, Dexter's Lab, Courage the Cowardly Dog, Ed, Edd N Eddy, etc.,

You have to remember that DOUG had a major influence on a lot of Youth growing up in the 90s and 2000s.

After years of research, I've decided to let you on a secret, 

DOUG shares the same overseas Korean Animation Studio with two kinds of important shows depending on which era you're watching.

The Nickelodeon Series

Circa August 11 1991-January 2 1994

had it's animation outsourced to HanHo Heung-Up.

Though it was only for for 51 and half Episodes since the pilot DOUG CAN'T DANCE was animated in-house at JUMBO Pictures back in 1990.

HanHo Heung-Up provided the majority of Nickelodeon's DOUG's animation from 1991 to 1994 

With some help from our U.S based GAMES ANIMATION

& starting in 1992, some help from the French studio ELLIPSE PROGRAMME.

By this point, HanHo had other shows they were working on but aside from Darkwing Duck, TMNT, Nelvana's TinTin, etc,

A lot of HanHo's overseas work didn't have a similar impact to DOUG at least in my opinion....

With exception to TMNT of course.

HanHo would eventually strike it big with BOB'S BURGERS starting in Season 3 in 2012.

The Disney Series

Circa September 9 1996-June 26 1999

On the other hand, that had it's Animation outsourced to Plus One Animation.

In comparison with HanHo,

Plus One had some recognizable contemporaries.....

Ok Ok...I digress.

Plus One was actually more famous for it's collaboration with Mike Judge.

Especially BEAVIS & BUTTHEAD

& 

KING OF THE HILL

When I found out that Disney's DOUG was outsourced to PLUS ONE ANIMATION,

I laughed because I could imagine the JUMBO Artists back in the Mid-90s jokingly refer to the revival as MIKE JUDGE'S DOUG due to the association that Plus ONE had with BEAVIS.

Though I'm sure Mike Judge either would not get the joke or would not find it amusing.

While HanHo Heung-Up is still active today especially since they have BOB'S BURGERS to work with,

PLUS ONE ANIMATION is however dormant.

As a matter of fact, PLUS ONE is not working on the PARAMOUNT+ revival of Beavis & Butthead.

Instead, the revival went to TITMOUSE.

Still a better BIRD company than X(Formerly known as Twitter)

I don't know if the upcoming KING OF THE HILL revival will switch to TITMOUSE too but we'll see once that show premieres on Hulu later this year.

And if Disney, Hulu, Amazon Prime, Tubi, Netflix, etc.

Decide to revive DOUG,

Chances are it's gonna change Animation Studios.

If so, It might be animated at Atomic Cartoons, Bardel, Wild Brain, Titmouse, Mercury Filmworks.

For overseas, 

My choice would be an Anime Studio in Japan.

My choices would be Science Saru, David Productions, Mappa, or Studio Triggger.

who knows but right now, Revival plans are not on the table yet until I hear Jim Jinkins' response about a potential revival.

Yes, I'm recycling a previous post from 2023 but this time with far more work involved since unlike the original, this is not a Maverick Quickie.
