But lets consider this HYPE for the October 5th 2024 release of RANMA 1/2's revival.
After the first images were revealed, and multiple images were revealed, I can see what the artists at MAPPA have done to SHAMPOO.
For those who don't know who Shampoo is or you're a longtime RANMA fan who needs a reminder,
SHAMPOO is a cute Chinese Amazonian Girl introduced in Chapter 30 of the MANGA.
Later introduced in the anime on August 26 1989...
In Japanese, she's portrayed by Rei Sakuma,
While in English, she's portrayed by Kathy Weseluck.
The Shampoo's grasp of Japanese however is portrayed as not great however.
A fact that she blames on an Instructional Audio Cassette while pursuing Ranma.
And that's Rei Sakuma's side of her acting which is well executed form of archaic vocabulary.
In the English Dub, as portrayed by Kathy, Shampoo's archaic Japanese Vocabulary is replaced with Broken English and Third Person Speech that can give THE INCREDIBLE HULK a run for his money....
And possibly steal that money from MARVEL too...

Anyway, back to Ranma 1/2.
In Ranma 1/2, SHAMPOO is routinely obsessed with RANMA SAOTOME just because he bested her at martial arts,
and then she found out about his true form.
and then she found out about his true form.
RANMA however would rather just be in the friendzone with SHAMPOO not because of his general attitude towards girls but rather has something to do with the fact that SHAMPOO can also transform into a CAT which unfortunately further aggravates his AILUROPHOBIA.
And Ranma himself is not going to like the fact I have a Cat named MISO
Regardless, I'm surprised to see how MAPPA Studios made Shampoo look more cuter than she originally was in both the MANGA and the 1989 Studio DEEN Anime.
Especially her reaction below.
If anybody encounters Rei or Kathy at your local Fandom Conventions in 2025, print a color screenshot from the revival, show it to them, and ask for an autograph.
I don’t know what recording studio Rei recorded her dialogue at,
I've heard no confirmation from Viz Media on the Dub. Instead, it went to the Iyuno, the Localization studio responsible for the subtitles if you watch the anime in Japanese.
I'm still watching the episodes but I'll be back on the topic when I release the review sometime later in October or early November.
I need to get some of my screenshots from the RANMA 1989 series in order to compare....
But the NETFLIX episodes will have to have my iPhone shoot in front of my Hisense TV due to how Netflix disables screen captures...

Love how SHAMPOO was dominating the Thumbnail for the remake on NETFLIX throughout October.
Update as of December 29 2024:
I've watched the Dub and I've got to say, mixed on Grace Lu's performance compared to that of Kathy Weseluck or Rei Sakuma....
but this did let me experiment with a post on SHAMPOO's linguistics that I made back in December 13 which was my birthday.
And yes, I've done my RANMA 1/2 review for season 1 of the remake. Expect a Season 2 review sometime in 2025.
