Energizer Bunny's everlasting legacy of Non-Stop & PC Game Cameos.

Even though I prefer DURACELL, I'll admit that I have a soft spot for the commercials featuring the Energizer Bunny in all his furry glory.

So it leaves me at an uncomfortable position of whether I prefer a Chime or an animatronic rabbit always causing trouble for people who show up in commercials.

At first, we all originally thought that the Bunny made his debut in 1989 but after multiple edits in the various wikis, it's revealed the Bunny actually debut on October 1988.

In the screenshot above, the bunny was making fun of Duracell but rather than the mockative tone used by Sega in their (in)famous GENESIS DOES WHAT NINTENDON'T campaign in the early 90s, Energizer went with a different approach.

It first starts off with what looks like one of those older 70s era Duracell Bunnies commercials

But then....

Feeling jealous Mr. Generic bunny

Yeah, I thought so, Judging by your drooping ear.

The Energizer Bunny Campaign still is going strong today, regardless if the bunny is either an remote-controlled animatronic or a CGI recreation.

And for all you Duke Nukem fans out there:

Yes, Apogee software had the gall to include the Energizer Bunny as a potential foe in an old EGA MS-DOS game.

How cool was that back in 1991?

I'll update this post when the time permits after getting all my resources.
