Why I like Large Monitors Better 05-To show off, or not to show off? That is the question.

When it comes to monitors,

I just like having a large monitor.

Why?

Because I like the idea of ENCOMPASSING YOUR POV with IMMERSION.

Like I said, I remember how exhilarating it was to have a large CRT Monitor like my old 21" KDS Monitor I had with my VOBIS HIGHSCREEN....

So it felt like a downgrade when I got my MDG HORIZON in 2005, we got stuck with using a 17" SAMSUNG SYNCMASTER

If it had been possible for me at the time to carry a POCKET PC like....

this HP IPAQ from 2005
alongside it's SD CAMERA Add-On
I would have had an easier way to show off to my friends some photos I transferred from the COMPUTER to the device.

I don't know....

Maybe it might come off as SHOWING OFF your tech and being considered bless but that's like having this kid from THE COMPUTER CHRONICLES show off his bigass monitor while demonstrating the BRYCE 3D CGI Software

Seriously, this kid's parents must have paid a fortune for that large 21" Display which is enough to make CGI Artists blush

All while us AVERAGE SHMUCKS are stuck with the smaller monitors

Sure, even a 17" display looks large but that's only because of the bezel holding it all together.

The viewable area is actually less than that though how much you view depends on the resolution you set CRT Monitors being DISPLAY RESOLUTION-AGNOSTIC.

Nowadays, it all depends on your own use case for how you use your monitor.

For me when it comes to work or gaming, I prefer to use my 34" ULTRAWIDE Monitor that I currently use due to it's sheer size, ability to fit entire CINEMASCOPE movies if encoded correctly, etc.

Though I've run into some people who won't contend with the larger displays due to alleged SPACE LIMITATIONS in their homes so that's why I sometimes see people go for the 27" displays
LGR's WOODGRAIN 9800x3D Build running
WINDOWS 11 PRO

LGR's Minisforum AI X1 Pro-370 Running
STEAMOS 3.8
I myself did use a 27" display for a short while
But since late May 2025,

I've moved on the my ULTRAWIDE....

I still have my 27" display, just that it's now overhead above my ULTRAWIDE and that's for watching YOUTUBE VIDEOs or putting my MAYA GRAPH Editor as seen above.

Oh how times have changed for me.

Who would have thought I go from using just one MONITOR

To now using TRIPLE MONITORS

But I'm not bragging about my setup because with space concerns in my BASEMENT SUITE, even my setup feels inadequate compared to these other setups I found from other people:

But I'm not complaining.

I like my setup for what it is.

I'm not here to encourage bragging but rather to discuss the topics.

30 years of a Dancing Infant and Premonitions of an artist in WASHINGTON STATE+ I'VE GOT AN IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT

Nowadays,

AUTODESK is known for their MAYA Software for CGI Animation in the Industry while AUTOCAD is known in the MANUFACTURING industry for it's use in...... CAD work.

But before AUTODESK acquired ALIAS SOFTWARE,

AUTODESK had their own CGI software that is often overlooked when compared to MAYA or BLENDER nowadays.

Nowadays 3DS MAX,

3D Studio was the principal CGI software for AUTODESK until they bought ALIAS though 3DS and MAYA coexisted.

Anyway, what does this have to do with what I'm talking about?

Well, A Sample Animation was created by ROBERT LURYE who was hired by UNREAL PICTURES animate samples of a dance to demonstrate animation on WINDOWS NT computers running their software without holding back the hardware in any way imaginable.

To demonstrate further compatibility, he scanned a plastic baby doll, rigged it,

And let it boogie..

Little did AUTODESK or even ROBERT LURYE know that when they shared their low-res renders through EMAIL and through the 1995 Software Conference at SIGGRAPH that they inadvertently created one of the first(Probably not the very first) viral INTERNET MEMES that could spread as quickly as.........

Anyway.

The GIFs got spread across COMPUSERVE INTERNET FORUMS
alongside videos which often paired the baby with
The 1973 BLUE SWEDE song HOOKED ON A FEELING
(Better known by it's Caveman sounding starting lyrics OOGA-CHAKA)

North of CALIFORNIA where AUTODESK is located,

A 17 year old High School Student in BELLVUE, WASHINGTON
who goes by the name of ROB SHERIDAN
Decided to take the BABY through storm after finding himself enamored by the Dancing Infant's antics.

Using his pride and joy of a COMPUTER:
A COMPAQ PRESARIO

He created a HOME PAGE to share the BABY's antics on the INTERNET:

Not only did ROB wanted to share clips he got on his WEB SEARCHES but he also encouraged other CGI Artists(Mostly Freelance) to share their creations to him via EMAIL so that he can share them on his HOME PAGE.

Under the proviso that they're up to his standards that is considered AGE APPROPRIATE as He got in trouble with his HIGH SCHOOL TEACHERs over some of the clips he's shared.

So that meant videos like a...

DRUNKEN NAKED BABY

(WHAT... THEY'RE CENSORED HERE!!!! )

or THE BABY GETTING HIT BY A CAR

are refused entry into his homepage.

While others like the psychedelic CHILD PRODIGY

or the Horror infused BABY FRANKENSTEIN

are allowed to be in his website.

Due to the fact that pretty much everybody who wanted to get on the internet in the late 90s were limited to DIAL-UP for their INTERNET,
And the fact that ROB SHERIDAN'S own DIAL UP Internet wasn't particularly great even back in the day,

Web traffic was pretty tame....

That was until DAVID E. KELLEY's  decided to contact AUTODESK buy software from them, just to feature the BABY in his show ALLY MCBEAL
The idea of the DANCING BABY appearing in ALLY MCBEAL was that he was meant to symbolize the title character's TICKING BIOLOGICAL CLOCK.

And ALLY eventually danced with the BABY in one episode

And with that, SHERIDAN's website soon SKYROCKETED in WEB TRAFFIC,

More than ROB's own INTERNET SETUP was willing to allow.

One a side note but still related to the baby:

A parody was also featured in the SIMPSONS via the DANCING JESUS WEBSITE

That was until HOMER stole the GIF and used it for his Home Page.

The later years were not kind for the baby and LITTLE BABY CHACHA soon faded into obscurity while other MEMES flourished.

In 2020,
An artist named JACK ARMSTRONG decided to revive the BABY for the new decade by TRACKING THE OLD FILES for the baby and....

Well I was under the impression he used BLENDER but as it turns out, he just used AUTODESK 3DS MAX which is.... rather fitting considering THE BABY's origins.

It's documented here:

ROB SHERIDAN has since moved on from the DANCING BABY meme that made him famous as he's since ventured on into other endevours
Such as is work with NINE INCH NAILS & PEARL JAM.

As for why I mentioned that I've got an Important Announcement:

Yesterday, I just purchased 2 tickets for a round trip to ATLANTA, GEORGIA
(The second ticket is for my mother)

So I've got the travel plans for FEBRUARY 2027 taken care of.

BAUZA REMEMBERED

I'm in somewhat of shock to hear this but....

SUNDAY OCTOBER 25th which was when WINDOWS XP turned 25 Years old,

Somewhat went down the crapper when I read on JERRY BECK's FACEBOOK Post that CANADIAN LOONEY TUNES actor ERIC BAUZA suddenly passed away due to HYPERTENSIVE HEART DISEASE.

I should have posted YESTERDAY but I needed sometime to cool off.....

(NO!!! I didn't RAGE! I just needed some fresh air and to think of a tribute)

BAUZA not only brought his VOICE to the masses that allowed him to portray the various LOONEY TUNES characters with ease but He also managed to perfect the voices in the same way MEL BLANC had done years prior.

And speaking of this image of BUGS BUNNY from COYOTE VS. ACME,

BAUZA was also supportive in the crusade to rescue this film after that ASSHOLE ZASLAV shelved the film and refused to release it.

He didn't just crusade to rescue it,

HE DEMANDED WBD RELEASE TO CINEMAS....

NO IFS-ANDS-OR-BUTS

"I hate to be political but...
RELEASE COYOTE VS. ACME!!!!"

And with those words,

KETCHUP ENTERTAINMENT obliged and paid WB the $50 Million to save the film from Purgatory in 2025,

And it was worth the wait.

BAUZA is not only known for his role as the various LOONEY TUNES but if you read his profile on WIKIPEDIA, then you'll know he also worked with JOHN K. on various SPUMCO projects,

Starting with THE RIPPING FRIENDS in 2001 where he worked as both a production assistant and as several characters in the cartoon.

BAUZA's biggest(at the time) achievement would be taking over from BILLY WEST as the voice of STIMPY in ADULT PARTY CARTOON.....

"But we don't talk about ADULT PARTY CARTOON.... ever....
For the sake of all that's great about NICKELODEON's
Third Broadcast Original NICKTOON!!!"
(Read that in BILLY WEST's STIMPY Voice.)

Speaking about NICKTOONS,

BAUZA was also known for lending his voice in others such as RANDOLFO RIVERA in
EL TIGRE

FOZZIE BEAR in the 2018 reboot of MUPPET BABIES
"I refuse to share my BABY Photos in this blog...
WOCKA WOCKA.... NOT!!!"

PRINCIPAL FAUST in THE OWL HOUSE

RAZOFF in RAYMAN 3 HOODLUM HAVOC

JIMMY PESTO SR in BOB'S BURGERS

Replacing original actor JAY JOHNSTON
after he was suspected to have participated in January 6...

and many more which I'm not going to list all of them because this post is to posthumously acknowledge the achievements that BAUZA has done for us.

I think what's more painful for me is that I never got a chance to meet BAUZA in PERSON.

I'm an INTERVIEWEE in the CANADIAN DOCUSERIES

THE ASSEMBLY which airs on CBC GEM and I have been trying to get

SMALL ARMY ENTERTAINMENT to contact ERIC BAUZA to be a guest on the show.....

So far, that has not happened and unfortunately will never happen in light of the sudden news of BAUZA's passing...

WOAH WOAH WOAH!!!!

Settle down BUGS.

Just because BAUZA's gone doesn't mean you're done.

You still have JEFF BERGMAN and BILLY WEST to fill your.... RABBIT FEET...

(I'm still wondering about your other co-stars though but I'm guessing for PORKY PIG, they'll bring back BOB BERGEN.)

And besides, SKYDANCE is fully committed to releasing BAUZA's final work

BYE BYE BUNNY later in the year(or 2027)

Quite a fitting send off but I'm still looking forward to this Cartoon when it finally releases.

So to close this post:

REST IN PEACE ERIC BAUZA.

And say hello to MEL BLANC in Heaven for all of us..
