Doug Oddities: Ren and Stimpy almost had a Crossover with our Sweater-Vested kid

Not mentioned in any other WIKIs, except Wikipedia of all places,

It turns out that the November 1991 Nick episode DOUG OUT ON LEFT FIELD

almost had REN & STIMPY cameos.

In what was reported to be an act of Artistic Vandalism from SPUMCO.

So how did this happen?

Well, Will McRobb convinced a team of SPUMCO employees, Including John K. & Vincent Waller to work on layouts for a single episode of DOUG.

Both Kricfalusi and Waller did not like the experience working on a contemporary that debut the same year as STIMPY.....

More so JOHN K. who was known for lambasting shows that did not meet his visionary standards even if it wasn't his own.

I watched the episode on my 18TB Western Digital Easystore HDD and as it turns out, there aren't any cameos of Ren & Stimpy in the episode.

That's because according to sources, the Cameos were caught by Jim Jinkins who probably was not on good terms with John K. for some of his comments about DOUG so he had the Stimpy Cameos excised from the final cut.

"I won't have the MANX CAT & ASTHMA-HOUND CHIHUAHUA
vandalizing my episode!!!"

I highly doubt though that the Ren & Stimpy Cameos cut will ever get leaked on LOST MEDIA WIKI anytime soon.

And unless you're willing to mod Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl for the PC,

The chance of Ren & Stimpy fighting DOUG/Quailman are extremely slim since DISNEY owns the rights to the characters.... sans the first 52 episodes.

The fact that DISNEY was allowed to use DOUG and Porkchop as a billboard advertisement in the 2022 Chip and Dale movie without paying VIACOM is proof that they own the characters.

Though it's clear the director of this movie preferred the Nicktoons Promo art of DOUG
for this Cameo.

On topic,

I've only used my AMAZON DVD screenshots because NICKELODEON....

and Jim Smith passed away recently so I thought I'd bring this up because the fact that one former Nicktoon almost had a 1991-era crossover with another Nicktoon before Company Politics excised said cameo from the finished print is fascinating.
