And I though i was done with them Quickies.
Anyway.
I looked at my FACEBOOK FEED and I saw this reel by ZACH TECH TIPS where even though he didn't go to CES 2026 this time due to his disinterest in whatever the balls them companies are preferring to unveil....
*COUGH*A.I CRAP*COUGH*
He did get surprised at this:As if I couldn't be more surprised, THERMALTAKE of all companies decides to unveil these retro-inspired cases where the case uses designs lifted from around 25 to 30 years ago....
Just reoptimized for RGB, Tempered glass, AIO placement, and front airflow.
While also adding things like a 5.25" Optical Drive Bay which we desperately need in today's cases, even in those Dual-Chambered Fish Tank Cases that every builder is so obsessed with.
They claim this is 80s themed but I've seen cases like this and it's more Late 90s themed,
without the tempered glass as that didn't exist for PC cases back then.
But still, this is a nice change from all those Dual-Chambered builds I'm seeing nowadays and I think we need a break from all that.
I'm all for RGB Fans but I think we need to prioritize Front Intake Airflow instead of just flashy looks or wasting negative space for mounting things like DVD/Blu-Ray drives.
And yes, I'm still waiting on when FRACTAL DESIGN might release something new down the line like a new revision for their DEFINE series of Cases.
And just for the record, this trend of Retro-Inspired Cases is not new.
I first became aware of this Last year when Silverstone unveiled their FLP03 Cases at EXPO 2025 in Japan.
But even with these Retro Inspired cases that I like,
Even when I eventually have to swap out my motherboard,
I'm still sticking with FRACTAL DESIGN.
Here's I'm still hoping Fractal announces the DEFINE 8 series.
