Yogi Bear's Bathroom Entertainment Concept that never was

Now here’s a discovery of mine that takes the age old

“Does a BEAR shit in the woods?” Idiom

and puts it into new surprising METAs.

In today's era of BRINGING IN YOUR SMARTPHONE into the bathroom just to watch someone's Gaming Twitch Stream, YouTube Video, or watching an Anime Fansub,

all while taking a crap, shaving your beard, showering, cleaning your cat's business, cleaning the bathroom with cleaning products, etc.

One would wonder what the hell were people doing for entertainment when in the bathroom during the mid to late 20th Century?

Reading a Book, or a Magazine?

That's one way to look at it.

But what about music?

You could bring to the bathroom your portable Transistor Radio....

But why do that when you've got this:

This product as you see up there is a Toilet Paper Holder/Transistor Radio.

Why bother bringing in your own personal radio when you could have an all-in-one system that holds your wads?

Not only was this a Transistor Radio you can stick to the wall with Adhesives, Screws, or Pushpins.

But you could also listen to the Radio while also pulling in your toilet paper from the thing itself.

All while using Hanna-Barbera’s YOGI BEAR as the product’s spokesbear.

Oh Look,
Yogi Bear's bathroom has almost the exact same layout as
my own bathroom at home.

I have to wonder.... Is that Radio FM or AM?

However, there's no such thing as Pink Toilet Paper unlike what John K. thought when he did his blogpost about this particular transistor radio back in 2012 when questioning the merits of the Modern IOS/ANDROID Operating system for phones.

If there was even such a thing as PINK TOILET PAPER, it would have about the same texture as that awful SANDPAPER Toilet Paper used in Public Bathrooms in places like Schools, Community Centers, etc.

If you happen to still have this KIDDIE BATHROOM RADIO, whether it's inherited from your Childhood or from your parents' childhood,

you'd better stock a roll of CHARMIN ULTRA-SOFT TOILET PAPER on the thing just to make YOGI BEAR, BOOBOO BEAR, and RANGER SMITH happy.....

And stick it up against these bears for mauling Mr. Whipple in 1999.

To half-heartily quote LGR from the BEAR-A-BYTE PC Restoration video from 2023:
"Seriously, they need to stop lying,
No Bear that HAIRY is HAPPY with Toilet Paper alone!”

While we all still have our Charmin Bears, the Bathroom Radio/Toilet Paper Holder concept never got off the ground for the 21st Century.

Probably because of the Smartphone which although was invented by IBM with their SIMON in 1994, didn't fully take off until 2007 with Apple's iPhone.

Unfortunately, most smartphones don't come built-in with an FM RADIO app so you have to download it.

And the reception comes from either your cellular connection or your Wi-Fi since most iPhones and Android phones don't have an FM Antenna built-in anymore.

All of this radio business gone to bust is already much to Homer Simpson's Chagrin,

in 1998 standards that is.

"Let's just say I'm sitting on the right chair!"

Yes, I did save this post for today September 29 because while I did miss the Bear's 65th Anniversary in 2023, At least I saved his 67th Anniversary for today because September 29 1958 was when he made his debut alongside HUCKLEBERRY HOUND.

Why I like Large displays Better Part 04-Monitor Size vs. Width Discrepancy

I'm back with another edition with WHY I LIKE LARGE DISPLAYS BETTER since I haven’t done another one of these posts since mid-spring of 2024.

Ever since I upgraded my main monitor setup with my
34" ASUS TUF VG34VQL3A ULTRAWIDE Monitor on May 29 2025,

I've since gotten curious about the other monitors of similar size whenever I visit my local BEST BUY locations in VANCOUVER, BURNABY, etc.

And I'm left aghast at whenever I see another monitor that's not wide but the same Advertised height, the size difference is staggering.

For example, Compared to my ASUS TUF ULTRAWIDE,

I also compared it to an ASUS ROG SWIFT Monitor that’s just a normal 16:9.

The two monitors are both 34" VA Panels but the ROG monitor looked bigger than my ultrawide when compared to it.

I wish I had a photo to show but I didn't take the photo.

Now before you say
"ASUS ROG SWIFT MONITORS ARE SUSPOSED TO BE OLED PANELS!!!!"

Keep in mind that I could not find an ROG OLED Panel that was bigger than 27" in my BEST BUYs as those are probably ONLINE ORDER deals.

The ROG SWIFT OLED Panel I could find on display was this 27" as seen below.

Just for a bit of fun, I'll compare the size of that 27" OLED Panel vs. a TUF 32" VA Panel.
The one on the LEFT is the 27" ROG Swift Monitor.
The One on the right is 32" TUF Monitor

The size difference is real if the width is the same which would be anamorphic...

And it doesn't matter if the panel is flat or curved.

And just for fun, Let’s compare my 34” ASUS TUF ULTRAWIDE to a
49" SAMSUNG SUPERWIDE which I did look at while at BEST BUY at CAMBIE ST.

To my eyes, it doesn't look that much taller than my TUF Ultrawide.

Where that SAMSUNG SUPERWIDE really shines is it's width and lets you be totally immersed in the screen.

And that's only if you bought it and set it up on your desk as standing up or crouching when viewing these demo units at stores like BEST BUY isn't gonna do the immersion justice.

So what gives with this discrepancy?

Well what happens is that these monitors are not measured by HEIGHT, nor WIDTH but rather by
DIAGONAL WIDTH.

The monitors are measured diagonally when they're marketed to the end user.

And this has caused some issues with the most seasoned of Computer Users who are so obsessed with large monitor space but are shocked to find that a particular size they've used in the past seems small when you enhance the width regardless of Max Resolution.

Let's take a look at this graphic shall we:

I pulled this image from THE 8-BIT GUY's 2024 video about CRTs.

This is sort of a recycled research on his part because it's referring to a certain piece of research he undertook back in 2013 when he was talking about what his ideal monitors were.

But what does this have to do with size discrepancy?

As you can see on the above graphic, computer monitors are measured by size diagonally.

And you can be shocked to discover that what was once large on the 4:3 size looks smaller on a widescreen 16:9 monitor on the same size.

Many enthusiasts who still firmly remember the good old days of CRT monitors criticize this practice of advertising the diagonal dimensions because it's just minorly charging consumers more money for less screen size just by shrinking the size to accommodate the wider aspect but the price remains the same if the same monitor tech is left unchanged because there's going to be a price difference depending on if the monitor uses a CRT Tube, LED Panel, VA Panel, or OLED Panel.

That explains why I felt a little shrinkage on my viewing perspective when I got my Acer Nitro 24" Monitor in 2021 but when I looked closely at the monitor, it sure doesn't look as large as the 21" KDS AVITRON CRT monitor I had as a kid.

Or maybe I’m just misremembering my childhood memories and the reason that monitor looked massive was because of how small I was back in 2001-2005.

Anyway, my old ACER Monitor looked like this in the image below which was connected to the RTX 3060 my original MAVERICK WARHAWK BUILD from 2023
And yes, I include the obligatory cameo of MISO THE FELINE.

I somehow became one of the lucky ones to have a large monitor like the KDS above.

Most of our childhood Computers often were paired with small monitors, mostly those that came with our computer.

The largest you'd ever have in a desktop monitor for your system most likely would have been either a 17" or a 19" CRT.

But some of us either had 17" or smaller.

For example, Billy Coore(Aka THE NOSTALGIA MALL)
had a 1995 Packard Bell Legend 822CDT from his childhood which was paired with a 15" Packard Bell Monitor.
The man in this photo is Billy Coore's late father who passed away in November 2021.

While some people like BEN HECK, THE 8-BIT GUY, LGR, & NOSTALGIA MALL have come to at least accept that the average shmuck is not going to care about screen-real estate,

some people like Nathan Lineback of TOASTY TECH fame are not going to give a flying shit about the advertising scheme and trying to educate him on changing times will instead elicit a diatribe from him on why he demands you go back to a 4K Capable CRT VGA Monitor and he will rudely and vehemently CRITICIZE YOU for spending thousands on an ASUS ROG SWIFT OLED or a Dell ULTRAWIDE that can barely handle both 4K or high refresh at the same time unless you have a really high-end graphics card from either Nvidia or AMD.
True story about his views on Tech....

So why does this post look like I'm praising the older tech when I already own a 34" Ultrawide?

Because I understand how shocked I was when I compared to how minor the size of my old acer from 2021 looked when compared to my old KDS from 2001 to 2005.

And also, it reflects my bemusement with the difference on screen sizes in cinemas too.

The Screen Size on the original Movie Houses from the beginning to the early 50s were pretty small unless you were attending a screening at a movie palace which were massive.

And the size of a traditional cinemascope auditorium with sloped seating might not compare well to a modern auditorium that demands a larger screen area to accommodate the stadium seating of today's cinemas.

In regards to my old 24” ACER NITRO monitor,
I no longer have it in my possession as I’ve donated it to my Church for their SUMMER Garage Sale.

My ASUS VG27AQ has since taken it’s place as my overhead monitor on my desk while my ASUS Ultrawide has taken over as my main monitor.

And yes, I did not mention IMAX.
They're auditoriums are a league of their own but I still see online fights over which is better:
GT, SR, MPX, DIGITAL, or LASER COLA.

I'll make a future post about IMAX AUDITORIUMS in the future.

Warner Bros Update 02-Netflix acquisition aspirations

Less than two weeks since PARAMOUNT SKYDANCE voiced an interest in acquiring WARNER BROS.

Now I’m hearing that that NETFLIX is interested in acquiring WARNER BROS.

My guess is that Reed Hastings, who’s the current CEO of NETFLIX, really hates ZASLAVS guts as mush as we do and acquiring WARNER BROS. would be the ultimate punch to the gut to the TAX OBSESSED man himself.

Normally, I’d rather be in a grey area about this but instead, let me share this fan art I found before FIXED was released on the platform last August:

Dexter and DeeDee’s fearful reactions to an unrestrained BULL pretty much sums up our reaction to the new development of the WARNER BROS. Acquisition.

Happy 20th Anniversary my MDG HORIZON 2400 PC

It was 2005, which as of this writing, is 20 years ago.

It was months after my Second Computer

A VOBIS HIGHSCREEN SKY from 2000,

Kicked the bucket and suffered hard drive failure.

I knew that my parents weren't gonna be without a Desktop Computer but at the time, I barely knew about Computer brands.

To me, Computers were just Computers that you play on.

While I had an iMac G3 in my bedroom, My parents felt that the living room needed a family computer.

Plus, it was 2005, and almost everybody that followed Microsoft were running WINDOWS XP to an extent on their computers.

I thought after all those years, My father bought the computer as he was often the one who was more tech savvy compared to both me and my mother....

at least for the time period.

But later in life, it was discovered that it was actually my mother who bought the COMPUTER while it was actually my father that brought the computer from the warehouse and was also the one to set up the computer.

I distinctively remember that night during the start of Second Grade in Early Fall 2005 when my father set up the computer and he actually let me see the OUT OF BOX EXPERIENCE setup.

And yes, for those who will probably comment with your bouts of nostalgia, it was absolutely PEAK when I heard VELKOMENN(AKA title.wma) playing through our new computer's SUPERWOOFER Speakers.

For a good four years, the Computer was situated on that corner in the living room near the mini-hall to both my bedroom and the bathroom.

Just ignore my Halloween 2008 Costume where I dressed as Anakin Skywalker during his Post ORDER 66/Pre-Mustafar Injury Phase.

Like I said in a previous post about my past computers,

My MDG HORIZON PC was not really used for the hottest PC Games that were released at the time.

Because not only did my parents at the time prohibited me from tampering with the innards of the computer just to upgrade the CPU, Graphics Card, or memory, but they also wanted to make sure I didn't play the M-Rated Titles which was sort of what the most popular PC games were.

Instead, I ended up playing many of my former Edutainment titles but occasionally, I played other games.

Many that included a Train-Simulator,

A Battleship Simulator,

A Dragon Spin-Puzzle Game,

A Game(Which I can't remember the name) where you play as a Polar Bear throwing Ice Blocks to his Penguin Friend, while avoiding Sharks, Fire Monsters, and Mad Pianos.

No relation to the MAD PIANO from SUPER MARIO 64.
And yes, you can trick the Piano into getting stuck on that chair.

And later in the years, I was able to emulate some old consoles on my Computer using a various amount of emulators for consoles like the Gameboy Advance, N64, SNES, Genesis, etc.

And for those who are nostalgic for old YOUTUBE, yes, I started with YouTube back in the day.

Most of what I watched back in the day were FRED, Cute Mario Bros., Nickonolasko, Captainfalconguygcn, TweeterMan287, etc.

While I still enjoy today's YouTube, It's mostly watching TechTubers like LGR, 8-bit Guy, JAYSTWOCENTS, The Nostalgia Mall, Ben Heck, etc.

If you don't believe me, Here's proof that I did witness old YOUTUBE via this 2009 photo of me with the computer:

I believe I was watching a RETROSPECTIVE of SUPER MARIO 64.

Back then, YouTubers were obsessed in being in the PARTNER PROGRAM which they thought was a status symbol for unlimited size and length uploads but in reality, they need approval from Google as well as credentials since YouTube Partners do get paid real cash into their Bank Accounts.

As indicated by the different room layout seen here, Sometime in Late January or Early February 2009, my parents decided that I should have this computer as my own as my mother had recently bought at that time a BRAND SPANKING NEW Dell Inspiron WINDOWS VISTA Laptop.

So my father wiped the hard drive, set up this computer on the desk that you see in the photo above, and replaced the old SAMSUNG SYNCMASTER CRT Monitor with that VIEWSONIC LCD you see above.

Alas, it was not to last.

My parents didn't let me upgrade the computer to either VISTA or 7.

And I don't know how it happened but the computer eventually got a trojan horse accidentally installed that hampered some performance when loading from startup.

Even our ANTI-VIRUS Software couldn't remove it.

By late JUNE 2011, my father decided that it was a lost cause to save the computer so before my mother and I went to MEXICO for our 4 month Vacation,

My father took the computer into his Surrey, BC, HIGHRISE Apartment, and reformatted the computer..... presumably performing the GUTTMAN METHOD on the hard drive.

Ahh MEMORIES.

To this day, I still miss my MDG HORIZON Windows XP Computer,

But at the same time,

I'd wish my parents let me have more freedom with tinkering with the machine so I could at least upgrade not just the operating system but also upgrade things like the CPU, the Graphics Card, the DDR2 Memory, etc.

And yes, I could still have upgraded the machine as the MDG HORIZON was one of the first PENTIUM 4 Machines to use the then BRAND SPANKING NEW! LGA 775 Socket.

Writing from Reality 04-Childhood/Adulthood Memories make good story ideas: Part 02+People that inspire our Characters

A continuation of my WRITNING FROM REALITY blogpost from May 2025.

And here are some stuff I found that's fascinating:

Some characters are inspired by real life people we know in our childhood and early adulthood.

Anyway, examples of reality turned story ideas now commencing!:

A Band Teacher who got promoted to Principal:

Poor Principal McVicker from BEAVIS AND BUTTHEAD can't seem to catch a break.

McVicker is the bald Principal of Highland Highschool who shakes due to processing his frustrations over Beavis and Butthead's antics.

We all know the story where MIKE JUDGE, who voices McVicker, got the inspiration for the character.

McVicker was based on a Band Teacher JUDGE knew in the 7th Grade who not only shook like McVicker does but he also smelled of Alcohol.

Sometimes, we encounter teachers in our School years with various quirks but this is ridiculous.

Doug Funnie's Favorite Teacher was also Jim Jinkins' favorite Teacher:

If you still prefer Mrs. Wingo over Emily Krystal just because of her grandmotherly charms,

well guess what, unlike Emily Krystal,

Mrs. Wingo was actually based on a real teacher that JIM JINKINS' knew in his Elementary school days.

Marguerite Wingo was Jim Jinkins' teacher from when he was a student attending MAUDE TREVETTE Elementary School in RICHMOND, VIRGINIA.

Compared to most depictions of Teachers from the 1950s that I've seen on Media, Mrs. Wingo was actually warm in personality to a point that she gave Jim all the encouragement that made Jim in the artist that we know and respect to this day.

Shortly after the final episode of Disney's Doug aired on June 26 1999, Jim managed to track down the real-life Marguerite Wingo and thanked her for giving him the encouragement to continue forward with his career as an animator, Illustrator, and Series Creator.

Marguerite Wingo would soon pass away sometime in 2002 but she left an everlasting legacy for Jim after all those years.

A Controversial Showrunner's past shame of shoplifting+A Spielbergian Inspiration:

The episode MARGE BE NOT PROUD from December 1995 may be a classic episode...
but the man who wrote the episode MIKE SCULLY is controversial

Why?

Because many a SIMPSONS Fan did not like his tenure from Seasons 9 to the first half of Season 13 due to how he rewrote Homer Simpson's general demeanor.

But showrunner controversy aside, SCULLY himself was inspired by an incident in his childhood where he stole a 45rpm Vinyl Record and just like with Bart, Scully got caught by Security.

Unlike with Marge Simpson, Scully's mother never found out.

Well that’s because unlike Bart who was caught and given a warning not to come to the store again,

Scully himself returned the record.

Another Simpsons Real Life Writers Moment:

The episode THE FRONT was inspired by an event where a few teenage girls wrote an episode of TINY TUNES ADVENTURES to Steven Spielberg under a pseudonym.

Believe it or not, not only did Spielberg accept the episode but he also found out the identities of the girls and he gladly gave a tour of his studio to the girls.

And then promptly hired them.

Why can't the current animation industry do the same to our cartoons?

Are they afraid of the money lost if they listen to Spielberg?

Hank's Texan Irony goes south below the border of North America:

Have you ever been so proud of your cultural heritage, only for it to go up in smoke when you finally discover where you're from?

Well that's what happened to MIKE JUDGE.

After many years of him stating how proud of an AMERICAN he was, when he discovered that he was born in GUAYAQUILL, ECUADOR, his reaction was understandably shocking.

Granted that he later became a Naturalized American citizen in his childhood when his family returned to Albuquerque, New Mexico in late 1965.

But stop to think about how Judge felt when he learned the truth.

In the later years, JUDGE accepted his Ecuadorian heritage after understanding that it was a result of his parents working for a non-profit organization in Ecuador.

Inspired by these turn of events at the turn of the Millennium, JUDGE encouraged his writers to come up with a story about HANK discovering that he wasn't born in TEXAS but rather NEW YORK.

how does Hank respond?

With a simple but understandably intense....

"BWAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!!"

And the only thing that can get Hank to accept his New York heritage is to be reminded that his heroes from THE ALAMO were not born in TEXAS but contributed greatly to the event.

This Jerkass Blue Vizier has a surprising connection:

ZIGZAG THE GRAND VIZIER from Richard Williams'

THE THIEF AND THE COBBLER(1992 Workprint & Garret Gilchrist's Recobbled Cut)

has a very interesting inspiration.

And it all goes back to 1973.

You see, Williams had a falling out with OMAR ALI SHAH and his brother IDRIES SHASH regarding money embezzlements and the nerves over the brothers demanding full ownership of a central character during the production of THIEF's earlier draft NASRUDDIN.

After Williams broke off the partnership and threw away the NASRUDDIN concept in favor of something original, he made a Grand Vizier character who's manipulative demeanor was based of the SHAH brothers.

Without the rhyming dialogue of course.

Just be glad ZIGZAG was portrayed by the late VINCENT PRICE, otherwise, the character would have been devoid of any redeemable qualities.

A Ghost who's inspired by a developer's Wife:

Well, the above image has told all too much for me to tell but the story is true.
The BOOs in the Mario games
(Originally named Teresas in Japan, and BOO DIDDLIES in the USA before SUPER MARIO WORLD)
Are based on the personality of the wife of TAKASHI TEZUKA who would often explode with anger over her Husband showing up late to home after a long day at work.

A Final Boss' Dialogue & the PTSD Stricken Game Creator:

When you fight the Final Boss GIYGAS in the 1994 SNES game EARTHBOUND, the entity spouts some nonsense before the game prompts that you can't grasp his attack's true form.

If looking at GIYGA's form wasn't nightmarish enough for some, then the inspiration behind his dialogue would make you wonder what the hell was on his head.

The dialogue was inspired by a scene in the 1957 Shintoho movie:

KENPEI TO BARABARA SHIBIJIN

(A Military Policeman and the Dismembered Beauty)

Earthbound Series creator SHIGESATO ITOI accidentally walked in on the film at a movie theater when he was a child and mistook a murder scene for a rape scene which traumatized him greatly.

The story behind this has been mangled for years on end but I think the excuse for the misinformation regarding GIYGAS and the movie could be because of the psychological effects of the trauma that still permeate within ITOI's Cerebellum as well has ITOI's general aging.

I just hope ITOI never mentioned this trauma to Noriko Hidaka or Chika Sakamoto during the production of MY NEIGHBOR TOTORO, otherwise those actresses would never live it down.

Yes, the father in TOTORO was portrayed by the man who made the EARTHBOUND games.

Let that sink into your mind for a bit because that makes me happy.

Now for my side of memories.... I wish I had but for some reason, I can't remember.

But I know this dark story from a friend of mine that I knew from ELEMENTARY SCHOOL.

His name is Albert Huang and he was considered my best friend from Kindergarten until the 5th Grade when we were separated away from classes. And then he transferred schools.

Anyway, he often told me and a few other friends this story of what happened to him before he started at Strathcona.

He said that at one night, he was accidentally locked inside a school washroom for several hours straight.

I may be fudging up this memory but I often imagine his story taking place at night because his description probably had windows with some minor light showing through...

HOW SCARY....

As for the part where we create characters inspired by real-life people in our Childhood,

Yes, I've been there.

You may know this but...

The Above image of the Japanese Girl Character I created and called her MEGUMI YOSHIDA,

She's based on an actual girl I knew during my Elementary and High School Years.

Her name is LIZA LAM, and unlike me who was born in December 13 1997,

She was born on April 27 1998.

And unlike Megumi who's Japanese-American,

Liza is Mandarin-Canadian as she was born in Vancouver, BC

whereas I was born in Toluca, Mexico.

I first met Liza in Kindergarten circa 2003 to 2004 but we didn't see each other again for many years until the Sixth Grade starting in September 2009.

It wasn't until sometime in the beginning of Spring 2010, sometime in Late March or early April of that year, I developed a Crush on her.

Alas, after many years, I could not establish a committed relationship with her. I wonder why?

The closest I could manage was having 2 photos circa 2016 when the both of us graduated from High School.

First is from our Graduation Ceremony at the Italian Cultural Centre

And my personal favorite which happens to also be my iPhone's Wallpaper:
When Me and Liza had our Grand Photo together during PROM.

Compared to the earlier photo of Liza that I shared,

which was from my 15th Birthday in 2012,

Liza chose not to wear her glasses during Graduation and Prom.

Also, 18 year old me had no BEARD.

Back in June 2016, My 18 year old face was all CLEAN SHAVEN.

You may think that I haven't seen Liza in a while but that's sort of half true.

While it has been 9 years since we last saw each other in person, We're still in contact on Social Media.

And yes, she does LIKE my posts on Facebook.

And yes, the WRITING FROM REALITY series of blogposts will have a part 05.

Just need to gather some more info from the interwebs of WEB3, find screenshots from the web or my 18TB HDD, and remember some more stuff from my childhood.

Warner Bros Update -Paramount acquiring Warner Bros. Rumors

Warner Bros. just can’t seem to catch a break this decade and it’s all the fault of one DAVID ZASLAV!

I’m not being apologetic about the man, but everybody hates Zaslav for his

TAX WRITE-OFF Fingers of Doom

but he refuses listen to us and instead defends his actions.

And in the midst of his mishandling of the RABBIT HOLE, all while absorbing and deflecting the hate that us CARTOON NETWORK fans have for the man,

Now I’m hearing rumors of a potential merger with PARAMOUNT PICTURES
(which is now owned by SKYDANCE)

in a similar style to when DISNEY announced in 2017 that they were gonna buy
20th CENTURY FOX which they did in 2019,

It’s all just rumors and is not truly confirmed but if so,

I don’t know how the SLIME FACTORY or RABBIT HOLE fans will take the news, what with a quarter of the ANGRY emojis I’m seeing on Facebook posts regarding the potential merger.

So instead of showing a photo of FAN FUMING AND CUSSING,

How about I share this photo of BUGS BUNNY blocking ELMER FUDD's gun barrel just for spreading the news of the merger to everybody on WEB3:
"You should have not told the INTERNET about the merger rumors DOC!"

I may despise ZASLAV for his assholery but at the same time, only he can confirm if the merger is going ahead or not but for me, I’m gonna leave my opinion at a grey area.

I'll update this when I hear more about the merger, if it ever happens which I highly think is unlikely.

Yes, this news dates back to September 10th when I found out but I chose to delay my post until today due to having to mentally process the news of the merger as well as the Political discourse of the recent assassination of an influencer as well as the mixed opinions on the matter.

And for now, I'll just keep my mouth shut about the recent events

and move on to future blogposts about Animation, Computers, Toys, etc.

Correction as of September 15 2025:
I thought the merger was spearheaded by ZASLAV but as it turns out, the decision to accept the merger is up to him.

The one who’s interested in buying WARNER BROS. is DAVID ELLISON.

Is Ellison better or worse than ZASLAV?

Again, I’ll leave my opinion at a grey area.

Maverick Quickie-Forsaken 64 vs PC Original

Yes it’s a Maverick Quickie and not a comparison but as of this writing, FORSAKEN 64 is being released on Nintendo Switch ONLINE via the

N64 Mature 17+ App.

And that’s if you’re already paying for
NINTENDO SWITCH ONLINE+ Expansion Pak.

And… I don’t know.

The game’s North American cover is already infamous, regardless of whether it’s on PC, PS1, or N64,
For using images of a naked Donna Decianni on the cover and advertising and yet she doesn’t appear in game,

Yeah, the N64 game as some nice 3D graphics for 1998 and supports 4-Player Simultaneously,

But in my opinion, the PC version is 10 times better than the console ports.

Why?

Most of my preference for the PC version has to do with the fact that it, alongside Incoming From RAGE SOFTWARE, were used to benchmark gaming PCs back in the late 90s.

But unlike Incoming which was a pain to get running on most computers back in the day

*COUGH*I can relate from my Compaq*COUGH*,

Forsaken was more forgiving even for people who had Potato PCs stuck with integrated Graphics.
This user however has pimped out their Packard Bell.

And compared to the PS1 version,
The PC port is more fast paced due to the game being more optimized for keyboard and mice instead of a PS1 digital controller.

And I also read that the N64 port of FORSAKEN is much different from the PC original.

The PC ORIGINAL has you play as a biker who collects the treasure from within a barren Earth.

Whereas on N64, due to the hardware using Cartridges instead of CD-ROM,

You play as said bikers hired by Security who’s tasked you with killing them raiders and reclaiming the planet.

Or maybe I’m going a little JAMES ROLFE here seeing as I’ve never played the N64 port before and I’m only familiar with the PC Original.

Oh well, I am paying annually for NSO+Expansion Pak so I’ll give FORSAKEN 64 a try.

For those who want to play the PC version of FORSAKEN, the remastered version from NIGHTDIVE STUDIOS is available on both STEAM & GOG and has been available to buy and download since 2018.

As a matter of fact, the Forsaken I play is the one from GOG that bought in 2023.

Quick update as of September 4 2025:
I played through the first round of Forsaken 64 on my SWITCH 2.

Had more fun on that than when I emulated the PS1 version due to the controls being better optimized for the n64 controller.

But an N64 Controller still can’t replace a Keyboard+mouse, or Xbox Compatible controller that’s for sure.

Maverick Update-PC Upgrade, Future Upgrade Plans, etc

Starting this month,

there will be no DOUG Movie Shoutout Post to start the month,

Not because of low reader count, or the Nick Series Elitists still fuming at DAVID ELLISON for removing the series off of Paramount+ back in December 2024 due to the stupid SKYDANCE Merger....

But rather, I need a break from those posts.

Plus, Of the entirety of 117 episodes spanning both Nick and Disney, there's little to no room for looking for references both obvious or closeted without resorting to the Disney Press books on Archive.org.

So instead, I'm going to provide this update on what's been going on in my life.

First is the CPU Upgrade.

As I posted earlier on my Maverick Quickie post on August 28, I finally bought my AMD RYZEN 9 9950X3D 16-CORE CPU from my local BEST BUY in Cambie Street.

Exactly two days later, I bought All-In-One LIQUID COOLER.

Why did I purchase an AIO when in the past I've been critical of these?

Well it was an issue of economics back in 2023 when I first built my machines.

But now with more money, and more knowledge, and careful research, I decided to give it a shot.

Though I had to limit myself to a 240MM AIO due to the my FRACTAL POP AIR's limited space to mount the radiators.

And due to that, I had to get a premium 240MM AIO with the best pump imaginable so I went with the Corsair AIO as seen above.

Anyway, after returning from my purchase of the AIO at my local MEMORY EXPRESS at Cypress and Broadway Street in VANCOUVER,

I proceeded to remove both the DEEPCOOL AK620 Air Cooler and my Ryzen 9 7900x3D I had in my PC previously.

I took me a little longer to install the AIO due to it being my first time installing a Liquid Cooler and I'm a very picky person when it comes to following the documentation.

And yes, I did see LGR's video where he fumbled on installing his 420MM AIO in his Fractal North Gaming PC on his first try but at least I know from his mistake that you should remove all mounting brackets and screw mounts of the motherboard before mounting your AIO which he did before finishing the build.

After installation and redoing my Cable Management,

I turned on my PC:

And breathed a sigh of relief when my GIGABYTE AORUS Motherboards'
AMERICAN MEGATRENDS UEFI BIOS alerted me to a CPU change.

Although I noticed that even though my Thermaltake fans were spinning, their ARGB lights were not lighting up.

I thought,

"AW SHIT! DID I BREAK SOMETHING?"

Fortunately, It was an easy fix. I opened up my side panel and discovered that the ARGB header was disconnected from the SATA Controller connected to my SEASONIC Power Supply.

After I reconnected the ARGB Header,

My ARGB Fans started showing Green Again.......

Yeah, I set my fans to Green.

So for future upgrade plans:

I plan to upgrade my GPU to a 50 series.

I'm still on my RTX 4080 that I bought in November 2023 which you can see above.

I'm still browsing the market for a good RTX 5080 GPU to replace my GIGABYTE EAGLE though I might narrow my choices to ASUS, ZOTAC, PNY, or MSI.

And no, I will not go for the 5090.

Not only because that GPU is overtly expensive but any Nvidia GPU with 90 as the last two digits in the model number is bound to be a fire hazard for the 12VHPWR Cable.

Another thing I plan upgrade is to replace the AIO's Block cover with those LCD IPS Screens that everyone of my friends wants.

Why?

Because I was disappointed that my AIO didn't include the screen but I was also glad that the TITAN AIO's water block cover is Modular so I intend to get one of those LCD Screen Covers for my AIO, sometime later in the month.. or maybe October.

Probably from AMAZON as the stores in my Area don't carry the module.

However, I now know that Late August Upgrades came at a cost:

MY HEALTH!

The day after I upgraded the CPU, I got sick with a bad headache which I attribute to dehydration.

And my mother, who works as the Video Switcher at my Church, noticed this when I was clenching my head and experiencing some burping sensations.

So she sent me home so I can recover.

So much for upgrades when it proves too much for your head.

Oh well, I signed up for this Job and I take it like a real man.

And on a a different note,

In-between the CPU and Cooler Purchases,

I went to the 50th Anniversary Screening of JAWS at my Local Cineplex Metropolis Theater....

In 4DX of all things.

I will admit, I was skeptical of 4DX due to what I perceive it to be gimmicky as I've experience 4D at the VANCOUVER AQUARIUM before.

But it turns out the 4DX experience with JAWS was rather fun.

My seat shook, I didn't get splashed like I thought,

Makes me wish I went to Metrotown instead of International Village when I went to watch

REVENGE OF THE SITH's 20TH ANNIVERSARY.

Oh well. It's in the past
